This Privacy Policy explains what information Teacher Retirement Lab (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using our website and services (the “Services”), you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

• Information you give us. Your email address when you join the waitlist or create an account, and — when you use our planning tools — details such as your TRS tier, service years, salary range, birth year, and family information you choose to enter.
• Information collected automatically. Basic usage and device data (pages viewed, general location, browser type) through standard analytics, used to understand and improve the site.

2. How we use your information

• To provide the Services — for example, generating your Retirement Roadmap or delivering a Lab Report you purchased.
• To send you the updates you signed up for and, where you’ve opted in, occasional relevant content.
• To measure which content and tools are useful, so we can improve them.
• Where you consent, to introduce you to a Partner (see the Disclaimer, Section 4).

3. Accounts and login

Accounts use a “magic link” sent to your email instead of a password, to keep signup simple and reduce the credentials we store. A saved Roadmap and any purchased Lab Reports live under one account so you don’t have to re-enter your information.

4. Data minimization and retention

We aim to collect only what a feature needs, and to keep sensitive planning inputs (such as salary and service history) only as long as needed to regenerate a saved Roadmap or re-deliver a purchased report. You can ask us to delete your saved information at any time (see Section 8).

5. How we share information

• Service providers. Vendors that help us run the site — for example, hosting, email delivery, analytics, and payment processing — who may only use your data to provide those services to us.
• Partners you consent to. We share your contact information with a Partner only when you opt in to that introduction.
• Legal reasons. When required by law or to protect our rights and users.

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions and to measure usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some may affect how the site works.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your choices and rights

• Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any message.
• Request a copy of, correction to, or deletion of your personal information.
• Ask questions about how your data is handled.
